Yaru is a woman from Tausaii Kegurai, an island which forbids female participation in combat. Having secretly been trained how to fight, she leaves her home in hopes of finding a new land where she may live freely away from the male domination of her home island. However, coming to the mainland only throws Yaru into chaos and war, as rumours spread that a magician is threatening the country with an army of inhuman beings, a fiend in the neighbouring kingdom who wages war, and a new threat arises from the north in the form of the infamous and terrible race, long thought.
